Age Regulation
The regulation states that whatever age a player turns in 2008 becomes the age group for soccer, e.g. a player turning 9 between 1st January 2008 and 31st December 2008 (inclusive) is a 9s player.
Players do not need to be registered to come to initial practice sessions, especially if you are testing your childs ability and interest, but they need to be registered to play and to effect insurance cover.
The youngest age of a player should be based upon their interest, ability and capacity. Some 5yo may be fine, some 6yo will not. Bring them to training days to have them try out and be assessed for suitability.
U6s and U7s Small Sided Games 2008
In the Eastern Suburbs competition, in 2008 the U6s and U7s will be played with the small sided games format. This system is completely new, and all players should come to pre-season to learn about this exciting development, which will utilise professional coaches and smaller teams with higher levels of participation from players.
Team Selection Policy
In younger age groups, the Club will endeavour to place groups of friends wishing to play together in a particular team,
but we would encourage all players to be flexible and to play in teams appropriate to their standard. Teams in the
competitive age groups (10s to 18s) groups are selected on merit each year.
When Do we Play?
Non-competitive age groups 6, 7, 8, and 9 play between 9am and 2pm on Saturdays
Competitive age groups, 10 to 15 (mixed and Boys), play between 10am and 5pm on Saturdays
Competitive age groups, 16 and 18 (Boys) and the open mens, play between 9am and 5pm on Sundays
All Girls teams play between 10am and 5pm on Sundays
Please note that some games in the Saturday competition will play on Sundays, if playing observant Jewish teams, or
